Track Lighting Repair and Bulb Replacement
Problem
On October 16, 2025, PacSun #10278 reported multiple track lights not turning on at their store located at 2001 South Road, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. Store management advised that a previous technician suspected the issue was related to wiring or connectivity, rather than failed bulbs, raising concerns about potential electrical faults within the lighting system.
Challenge
The main challenge was to accurately diagnose the root cause of the lighting failure without disrupting store operations. The technician needed to determine whether the issue stemmed from bulbs, fixtures, wiring, or electrical connections, while ensuring all repairs were completed safely, efficiently, and documented correctly to prevent repeat service calls.
Solution
Electrical Technician Greg arrived on-site at 2:40 PM and checked in with store management before beginning work. A full inspection of the lighting system was performed, including track lights, fixtures, and bulbs. Electrical testing was conducted throughout the lighting circuits to verify voltage and continuity. Faulty and burned-out bulbs were identified and replaced. Loose connections and damaged sockets were repaired and secured as needed. The entire lighting system was tested after repairs to confirm proper operation and even illumination across the sales floor.
Actions taken:
Removed the defective lock cylinder Installed a new commercial-grade door lock cylinder Keyed the new cylinder to match the existing system Verified alignment and latch operation Tested locking and unlocking from both sides of the door
Results:
All track lights were fully restored to proper working condition and confirmed operational throughout the store. The service was completed at 6:43 PM, with client sign-off obtained at 6:45 PM. Store operations continued without interruption, and no return visit was required.
