Problem
The store reported that the upper storefront window glass was completely shattered after being struck by a rock. The broken glass created an open entry point, leaving the building unsecured and posing a safety and security risk.
Challenge
The shattered glass required immediate action to secure the building. Full glass replacement could not be completed the same day due to material and fabrication requirements. The site needed a temporary but secure solution to protect the store until permanent repairs could be completed.
Solution
Technician Jamie arrived on site and conducted an inspection, confirming that the upper storefront window glass was fully broken. To address the immediate safety and security concern, the technician performed a temporary board-up of the damaged window.
Actions taken:
- Secured the broken storefront window opening
- Installed a temporary board-up to prevent unauthorized entry
- Ensured the site was safe and protected until permanent glass installation
- The board-up was completed successfully and documented with before, during, and after photos.
Results:
The storefront was fully secured following the board-up, eliminating the immediate security risk. The store was left safe and protected while awaiting permanent glass replacement. The temporary board-up will remain in place until the new glass is installed on June 23, 2025, with client acknowledgment and documentation completed.
