Front Door Closer Replacement
Problem
Store management reported that the front entrance door was not closing properly due to a bent door closer (closing mechanism). The door remained partially open unless manually forced closed, creating a security and safety concern for the store.
Challenge
The door closer was physically damaged, making adjustment or minor repair ineffective. The store required the door to be secured overnight until permanent repairs could be completed. Replacement required correct hardware sourcing and precise installation to restore proper door operation and closing force.
Solution
Technician Damasio Perez responded to the emergency request and initially secured the door to ensure the store could close safely for the night. On the following day, the technician returned to complete the permanent repair.
Actions taken:
- Assessed the damaged door closer and confirmed replacement was required
- Sourced a new commercial-grade door closer and appropriate mounting hardware
- Removed the bent and defective door closer
- Installed the new door closer and mounting hardware
- Adjusted closing speed and latching force to ensure smooth, controlled operation
- All work was documented with before, during, and after photos.
Results:
By 8:08 PM on November 21, 2025, the front door was fully operational, closing smoothly and latching securely without manual assistance. Final testing confirmed proper function and compliance with safety requirements. Client sign-off was obtained at 8:20 PM, no return visit was required, and the store was able to close securely as intended.Client sign-off was obtained at 5:35 PM.
