Problem
On December 3rd at 6:12 PM, a 24-Hour Priority plumbing service request was received from Nike at 1475 N Burkhary Rd., Suite C-200, Howell, MI 48855. Store Manager Tristan reported years of corrosion buildup underneath the sink, raising concerns about potential mold development and damage to the cabinetry. Immediate inspection and corrective action were requested.
Challenge
The challenge was to identify the source of long-term water damage, stop active leaks, and address moisture concerns under the sink area. The repair needed to be completed promptly under a priority work order while ensuring the affected area was properly cleaned, ventilated, and documented to prevent further deterioration or health concerns.
Solution
Technician Travis was dispatched the following morning and checked in at 10:14 AM. A full inspection revealed that the water filtration system was leaking, outdated, and required replacement. A leaking hose was also identified as contributing to the moisture buildup. Approval for on-site repair was obtained from the client. Travis sourced all required parts and materials from a supply store. The leaking filtration system and hose were replaced. The area beneath the sink was thoroughly cleaned. A temporary fan was installed to ventilate and dry the affected area.
Results:
All plumbing leaks were successfully resolved, and the area beneath the sink was cleaned and ventilated to reduce moisture and mold risk. The work was completed around 5:00 PM, with final completion at 5:30 PM. The sign-off sheet was signed by Store Manager Tristan, and no further immediate issues were reported.
